The client’s vision was to create stylish, inspirational, vibrant luxury care homes and retirement villages with bespoke personal interiors. DAKOTA were briefed to create schemes which were both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The design team worked closely with the client to develop the concept and evolution of the interiors to ensure the design was bespoke with a boutique aspirational style.

Focusing on the principal rooms; this understated luxury apartment sympathetically mixed textured fabrics with patterned metal finishes and rich timbers to create a sophisticated modern aesthetic with a slightly masculine edge.

The Wool House in Hexham is an apartment home set within a former wool warehouse. The building’s past became the starting point for our design approach, guiding the choices of materials and detailing throughout.

DAKOTA worked closely with the client’s architect, firstly transforming their residential home and then re-developing the outbuildings/stables to form The Retreat; a Scandi inspired Spa and Lodge.
