MALMAISON RESTAURANT

The restaurant of this new hotel in Edinburgh city centre is nestled within the building, looking directly out onto St Andrews Square which is right at the heart of the New Town in the city centre.

DAKOTA have taken inspiration from nearby Rose and Thistle Streets to create a lavish variation of texture (hard and soft), light and style as a back drop for styling including artworks that are associated with the Scottish National Portrait Gallery which sits at the rear of the building.

While DAKOTA were very happy with the design story, they achieved a level of planning within such a highly listed building that not only suits its function but allows the hotel flexibility and affords the client options in terms of ambience; an open party feel is just as achievable as a romantic, secluded feel.
